Le Petit Prince
Author: Dan
why don't the children
understand adults?
why do adults
not understand the kids?
*
les grandes personnes are always busy
they rule, they count, they write, they drink
it seems they never take the time
to look, to feel, to talk and think
*
the king, oh such a rare sight
he wears a robe and a crown
likes to command and show his might
but ends up looking like a clown
*
a man who likes himself too much
conceited man, they call him now
is not a rare sight as such
clap, and he will take a bow
*
a tippler, simply put, a lush
is such a sorry sight to see
drinks to forget his helpless crush
but sober he may never be
*
a man of business, man of number
he wears a suit, he wears a tie
but he will still be torn asunder
when all the worlds simply die
*
to light a lamp takes little skill
to blow it out even less
but you just think of all the will
it takes to keep track of such mess
*
without a map, it's hard to fare
yet fare you must, to make a map
but if you sit, without care
then don't expect it on your lap
*
we all want something
even kids
a fox, a flower
has a dream
the Little Prince
he wants a sheep
the fox, a place to live
*
through many planets
he has traveled
but did he find that which all
seek so long, but rarely find
the one thing that escapes us all
*
and even now he is home
just talking to his rose again
and even now he's alone
and all he wants
is just
a friend...
